Isn't it now time that Liberians/west Africans start putting their money where we always like to get involved - in the government's business? And don't get me wrong. That's how it should be to make sure they do the right thing. But since we have long complained about our government not creating sufficient jobs and not moving fast enough to do what we ask of them, isn't it now time that we start pooling our resources as businessmen and women to begin doing what our government should not be doing? And that is establishing corporations for the purpose of transforming Liberia 's abundant natural resources into marketable products like cutlasses, hoes, wheelbarrows, rubber slippers, rubber pans, plates, just to name a few products that can be manufactured right in Liberia and do not require any advanced technology? Can't all this be done under the umbrella of a well organized and well supervised Stock Exchange Market right in Monrovia with competent and trusted board of directors elected by those who will invest in these corporations?
Harnessing electricity from wind turbine and solar panel
If you have been keeping an eye on electric power technology, you'll know that wind turbine and solar panel are fast becoming the source of electric power for the future. These elements can be installed right in your backyard, making you almost free from continued increase in energy costs.
Not only will this form of energy save you money, you will also be making a contribution towards curbing what is undoubtedly affecting our planet; i.e. global warming. Discuss it and learn more about it. Look around you. There are simple tools and materials right in your backyard that you can put together to create such an electricity generating system. If others can, you can as well. Just try. If you fail, try again. You'll be surprised. Review your old science books, the basics are right there. The children, the future of Liberia, depend on you. If others can, Yes You Can! Don't be blinded by the level technology has reached. They all started from the bottom with gradual improvement made as time progresses.
Electricity is the life blood of any economy. Therefore we will continue to devote much of our discussions to this subject until the appropriate private institution is established to provide the type of electricity flow that is necessary to sustain continued economic growth.
The first order of business at the soon to be established Monrovia Stock Exchange will be to sell shares to interested investors, especially Liberians to make this happen.

When all of the protocols required to establish MSE is completed we hope to begin a campaign of contacting thousands of Liberians at home and abroad to invest themselves into this process as shareholders of Liberia's first publicly traded company, the Electricity Corporation.
Mounted on a lamp standard, the installation consists of an Innoair 1,000-watt wind turbine and an InnoPV photovoltaic solar panel, which together are expected to generate approximately 2,000 kilowatt hours (Kwh) of energy annually. This single off-gridd turbine is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1.8 tonnes every year. Power generated at the lamp standard is being monitored through a wireless software program that records all energy production..

Wind power produces approximately 1.5 per cent of worldwide electricity use. Wind as a source of power is growing rapidly, doubling between 2005 and 2008. As of May 2009, 80 countries around the world are using some form of wind power for commercial purposes. Countries with relatively high numbers of wind power installations include Denmark, Germany, Spain, Portugal, the Republic of Ireland and the U.S. Is Liberia next? Yes, we can! Below is an example of collaboration by citizens of other countries when it comes to ownership of corporations for the sake of job creation for themselves, their children and future generation:
Company
Number of Shareholders
Shares Outstanding (in Millions)
Boeing
160,000
888
Coca-Cola
394,603
2,479
Microsoft
107,824
5,332
These are just the names of Corporations you are familiar with. There are thousands out there created through the collaboration of ordinary citizens like you and me, not their governments, for the sake of creating an economic environment where their children can live right at home and don't have to live as fouth class citizens elsewhere, displacing the valuable human resources of their home countries.
Click the Mano River Resources Inc and let's find out how many Liberians are shareholders of this Company and if there are, where are they located. This company has been given the legal right to export without any provision to require it to also have some Liberians as shareholders and to also endeavor to set up a manufacturing plant right in Liberia within a prescribed number of years to create jobs for Liberians. Sadly, we have no other alternative because we need the money to survive. Have we ever asked ourselves: What would happen if Liberia's natural resources are gone - depleted - in the next 50 years or less, what will Liberians depend on to survive as a nation, foreign aid? Countries only offer aid to a country that has something to offer. This is why it is fast becoming urgent that Liberians start collaborating with one another as others are doing for the sole purpose of creating jobs for their children and to preserve their resources for future use. This is not the responsibility of our government, though it is it's responsibility to inspire us. WARNING: If no efforts are made NOW to stop the continued exportation of our natural resources to other countries and not manufacturing steel and rubber products, etc in right in Liberia, we will be left with little or no resources in the next 50 years or sooner to survive as a nation. The consequence will be widespread poverty and starvation and likely another civil unrest. Besides, when last we conducted a survey to determine how much natural resources Liberia still has remaining within its borders since exportation of its resources began over 100 years ago. Some Liberians can always leave Liberia to live elsewhere but many can't. It is those who can't leave the country when there is a problem that need to take this seriously. Other countries can't continue to accept refugees into their countries. They have their own citizens to feed. So the only alternative is to collaborate with one another as others are doing. Anyone who thinks that our efforts here is to enrich ourselves is doing the children of this country a grave disservice.
